The annual short fiction contest has a £500 first prize
The Flash 500 Short Stories Competition invites entries of original, unpublished short fiction between 1,000 and 3,000 words. All themes and genres are welcome, including stories for children.
The first prize is £500, and there are second and third prizes of £200 and £100.
The entry fees are £7 for one story, £12 for two, £16 for three and £20 for four.
The closing date is 28 February 2026.
